New Coastguard Training Centre at Lee
Fareham and Gosport Borough Councils have approved plans for a new Coastguard Training Centre at Lee.
The new centre will be built on land immediately to the east of the current MCA site, extending the MCA footprint to Milvil Road. The new centre will replace MCA Highcliffe and the existing rescue centre at Hill Head. It will feature a 16 metre high training wall for simulating cliff rescues and is estimated to cost a little under £2 million. Plans can be viewed on Gosport Borough Council's planning portal here.
The investment at Lee is expected to result in 29 permanent jobs.
