Flt/Lt James Edwards DFC (23 March 1920 – 7 July 1988), better known as the actor and scriptwriter  'Professor' Jimmy Edwards was a Dakota pilot with 271 Squadron RAF at Down Ampney near Cricklade. His nephew Tim lives in Southsea.
